Hi we are Kirsty & Abi the co-founders of Our Space. On September 14th we will be completing the 3 Yorkshire Peaks.

We are raising funds to support a truly courageous family who continue to face unimaginable challenges with strength, love, and resilience.

In 2019, mum was diagnosed with incurable breast cancer — just as her daughter Elsie was learning to walk. Since then, she has bravely undergone countless surgeries, including emergency brain surgery, radiation treatments, and ongoing care to manage the spread of cancer. Through it all, she’s remained an incredible mother to Elsie, who has her own complex needs after being diagnosed with autism. Elsie is pre-verbal and requires consistent, specialist support to thrive.

This family’s journey has been filled with heartbreak, but also love, laughter, and remarkable courage. We want to ease some of the pressure they face by raising funds to support with essential therapies and resources for Elsie, transport to and from medical appointments and creating meaningful, memory-making moments together.

In addition, part of the funds raised will go towards Our Space, our SEND respite centre, so we can continue creating inclusive support for families like Elsie’s. We provide a safe, nurturing environment for children with additional needs — and with your help, we can continue being that lifeline for many more local families.
