3 Army Chefs, 3 Ski Erg's 1 Marathon each

Martin, Princess and Jacque are all Chef in the British Army, and we are fundraising for one of our British Army Chefs; please read the story below:

Himingthanpari was diagnosed with Breast Cancer in July 2021, following the diagnosis, she was given a date in September to go for a Mastectomy with immediate reconstruction. During surgery, they removed 5 of her Lymph Nodes, which all returned positive for the spread of Breast Cancer. She was referred for a PET scan to look over her whole body. The results came back from the PET scan showing that the Breast Cancer had spread into her spine; they took biopsies and then revealed that she also had Thyroid Cancer. In November, she had her thyroids taken out; she was informed that she couldn’t have chemotherapy for Breast Cancer because it wouldn’t work for her diagnosis.

Mami is currently taking tablets for the thyroid and must have blood tests every 3 months to check everything is okay; her current diagnosis is Stage 4 Breast Cancer and Thyroid Cancer.

Himingthanpari is a chef in the British Army, and her mental resilience to this diagnosis is highly commendable; when asked about this diagnosis, she replied, “the Army has helped my state of mind to be able to deal with this diagnosis”.

Himingthanpari is 37 years old, and her husband is in the RAF. They have a 5-year-old daughter; in December, Himingthanpari and her family will travel back to India for a month to see her family, which she hasn’t seen since being diagnosed.

The Event

On 13 December, Jacque, Martin and Princess, who are all chefs in the British Army, will Ski a Marathon on an indoor Ski machine, covering 42195m each. We are aiming for a 4-hour completion.

This charity is very close to our hearts. We would like to raise as much money as possible to assist Himingthanpari and her family in visiting her family in India.
