Hi, my name is Amber and I am trying to fundraise money to go on a trip to Kenya with a company called Camp International. Over the years this organisation have planted 1.1million trees, provided homes for 60 of the poorest families and have helped protect 250,000 hectares of wilderness in 7 of the world's biodiversity hotspots.

The expedition lasts 4 weeks and takes me to 3 different camps around the country. During the expedition I could be involved in: building desks for school children, making elephant deterrents to protect local crops and installing fresh water tanks in villages.

One of the challenges I have set for myself before I leave for the expedition is to walk the South Downs Way during the summer of 2026, which is 100miles long. This is something that I haven't done anything like in the past so I am expecting it to be difficult, which proves my determination of how much I want to go on this trip.

I was immediately excited when I heard that I had the opportunity to go help the people and wildlife of Africa after just turning 16. I also know that after this once in a lifetime experience, I will have grown massively in self-confidence and will have a different perspective on the world.
