Hi!

I’m Isabelle, but most people just call me Izzy!

I’m super excited to share that I’ve been accepted into TeenSHARP—a competitive, nationally recognized program that helps students become strong applicants to top colleges. TeenSHARP focuses on academic excellence, leadership, and community impact, all things I care deeply about.

I applied because I love to be challenged and to grow. Throughout the year, I’ll join weekly virtual workshops, meet 1-on-1 with amazing advisors, go on virtual college tours, and take part in projects that support my community. I also get to lead those projects, because TeenSHARP believes that young people can make a real difference.

This program will also help me build on some of the experiences I’ve been lucky to have already, like interning under the Chief of Trauma & Acute Care Surgery at MedStar Hospital, researching as a Pioneer Academics Scholar on how to make etoposide (V-16) less toxic through molecular manipulation, being a secondary leader in Model UN, and being awarded the 2023 PVAC best volleyball player. My dream is to explore a career in medicine or biomedical engineering, and I know TeenSHARP will push me to be an even better student, leader, and changemaker.

As part of joining the program, I’m also learning how to invite my community to be part of my journey. That’s why I’m fundraising $750 by August 1st, to show that I believe in the idea of "Harambee" (let’s pull together.) Your support doesn’t just help me—it helps me help others.
