Hello, my name is Sydney, I am a midwife and parent education teacher and, today I visited Yayasan Orphanage in Bali and I am on a quest to raise money for them.

Yayasan homes children who have been abandoned & also for those who’s parents cannot afford to care, house, or feed their little ones. The home is also for children who have been born out of wedlock which is frowned upon in Bali - sex outside marriage can actually come with up to a 1 year jail sentence!

Children are often abandoned, only around 40% survive, and some come here to Yayasan. It’s absolutely heartbreaking for families & children, my aim is to be able to collect some money to purchase essentials, nappies, milk, food etc.

Also, I would like to raise money to help towards the build of an orphanage for children aged over 5 who are removed from here, the only place they know! Then placed somewhere where they don’t know anyone and are taken from their friends who they’ve lived with all their lives! The government do not provide any funding at all!
