Courtney's Half Marathon - Hospice of the Valleys

Here at Candour Talent our Finance Assistant; Courtney Jones, will be running the Cardiff Half Marathon this October 2nd in aid of our chosen charity of the year; Hospice of the Valleys. Courtney has already started training for this milestone, and we hope to raise awareness for this fantastic charity as well as fundraise for them to continue their work in the local area.

Candour Talent's Head Office is based in Blaenau Gwent and employs quite a few local people in the area, in which some employees have experienced first-hand the generosity and help that Hospice of the Valleys offers.

Your donation would help support the services that this charity relies on to support the community.

Just £24.22 would cover the cost of an hours bereavement Support from our Family Support Team.

£25 would pay for an hour of specialist nursing care for a patient in their own home.

£193.60 would pay for 8 family support visits to support patients with their welfare and benefit entitlements and loved ones of patients through bereavement.

£339.00 would pay for a healthcare assistant to provide care and support for 3 nights at a patient's home, allowing their carers and family the opportunity to grab a nights sleep.

Did you know that The Hospice of the Valleys supported over 764 patients and their loved ones last year with their free of charge service at a cost of over £1.8 million to the Hospice.

More information about Hospice of the Valleys: Hospice of the Valleys is THE Blaenau Gwent Hospice caring for over 500 patients every year, with a team of specialist palliative care professionals dedicated to providing hospice care. We have a range of different services and are able to offer intensive, coordinated home support for patients with complex needs who wish to stay in their own homes, including specialist nurse advice which is available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year.
