Dear Parents and Carers,
Each Intake the students of Glengarry determine an organisation that they would like to fundraise for - whether it be a charity involved directly with a students family, one a staff member is involved in, or the local community. Their selection is always one that stems from purpose and relationship - traits they've been strengthening during the year during Thursdays Community Service, and Character & Care classes.
This Intake, we are proud of them for wanting to fundraise for Meals on Wheels and their Meals Together Program. The Meals Together Program encourages social interaction and community engagement for our Scots Boys with seniors citizens, but may also include individuals with disabilities or those facing social isolation. This Intake we have participated in Trivia, Board Games, Art and Bingo with the Meals Together program and it has been a delight to watch the boys engage so brilliantly at every occasion.
It is clear that the relationship Glengarry has with Meals On Wheels is mutually beneficial as it reduces social isolation, promotes a sense of belonging, and provides opportunities for companionship.
Throughout Term 2, your boys will be involved in a gruelling Duathlon Dorm Challenge- each boy riding and rowing for an hour to help raise funds for Meals on Wheels. On the 22nd May we're hosting a lunch onsite for boys and clients to celebrate the partnership and see which Dorm has been able to ride and row the furthest!
Let's get behind our boys as they rally hard in making this happen.
