My name is Jessica High, and every year I choose a special family in need for the holidays. This year the family I’m choosing is very near and dear to my heart. Tyler and Jessie Thurman. Tyler Thurman is originally from Georgetown/Ridge Farm, IL area and has recently relocated to Cayuga, Indiana. Tyler and Jessie got married in 2017 and have 2 children Nora (age 9) and Troy (age 7) Thurman. On September 1st 2020 Tyler was involved in a traumatic accident where he almost lost his life. Tyler then attempted to go back to work, but as of June 2024 has since been permanently disabled from returning to work. This is due to Seizures and other serious complications from the accident. Tyler and Jessie have done everything they possibly can to keep their heads above water, and still struggling after almost 5 years. I can not think of a more deserving family to receive some extra help around the holidays.
Tyler has been an electrician for more than 15 years, and has always enjoyed his work. It has devastated him he’s not able to return to his trade.
Jessie is now Tyler’s full time caregiver, as his seizures have caused him to not be able to drive.
Tyler and Jessie are the people you call when you need a cup of sugar, a car jump started, a kid picked from school, or just a friend to listen.
Tyler and Jessie constantly face financial struggles since the accident that has caused major life changes:
1. Their son Troy has had to change schools due to financial limitations.
2. Jessie has had to be the sole driver for the family.
3. Their income has been significantly reduced by 50%, and some weeks more.
4. The struggle to put food on the table, and basic essentials has been extremely hard since Tyler has not been able to return to work at all.
As Jessie and Tyler’s best friend, it is my only Christmas wish to provide them with some financial support to help them over this last big hurdle.
Normally the family I adopt every year is kept anonymous, but because of the circumstances I hope to be able to ask that if you could all reach into your pockets and help this kind and loving family.
As of today, Tyler and Jessie’s bank account is overdrawn and your assistance and prayers are needed immediately.
If bill/bank statements are required for your donation, please privately reach out to me for a redacted copy.
Thank you SO much! If you would like to donate over other methods please let me know!!!
