Message and story follows:
This is Adeeb crying because he has been away from his father for a long period of time.
In the vibrant heart of Gaza, where bustling markets once echoed with the laughter of children and the calls of vendors, I lived a life filled with love and community spirit.
My husband, Eyad, a devoted educator, and I nurtured our three children amidst dreams and daily joys. His passion for teaching was a beacon of hope, inspiring young minds even in times of adversity. However, the escalation of conflict turned our world upside down. The skies over Gaza, once clear and vast, became cloaked in smoke as the sounds of war replaced the bustling market noise. Amidst this chaos, I faced a daunting decision. With my children’s safety as my paramount concern, I decided to leave our home in Gaza, seeking refuge from the unrelenting conflict.
We found temporary solace in Rafah but soon realized that Eyad could not journey with us any further. As my children and I evacuated to Egypt, Eyad was left behind, trapped by the invasion and his commitment to help those who could not leave. Our separation was marked by anxiety and a profound longing for reunion. In Egypt, I grappled with our new reality, my days consumed by efforts to secure aid and advocate for Eyad's safety. My heart ached for him, who remained in Gaza, turning his despair into action by teaching in makeshift classrooms amidst the ruins. Despite the distance, sporadic messages between us kept our hopes alive, each word a testament to our enduring love and resilience.
Eyad, surrounded by destruction, found purpose in bringing some semblance of normalcy to the lives of children left behind, his spirit undeterred by the surrounding devastation. His dedication to education and community upliftment shone brightly against the backdrop of war. Bound by love and shared dreams of a peaceful future, we remain hopeful of reuniting. We envision a world where our family can live without fear, and our children can thrive away from the shadows of conflict.

And this is a photo of my beloved Yacoub, who is ill and away from his father's care.
