My name is Iuliia Soroka. I have been living in the US for 15 years. I am originally from the Ukraine, from a small village near Kyiv. The rest of my family are still living there. I have my parents, two brothers and my Sister Vyktoriia and her daughter Vadyslava. The men are not allowed to leave the country. They are required to stay and defend against the incursion. My mother, sister and her daughter have made a perilous trip to the Polish border where they have set up refugee centers for the people who are fleeing the Russian invasion. I have submitted requests to immigration to bring them here to the US temporarily until it is safe for them to return. I am trying to raise funds to pay for their current needs and shelter while they remain in Poland waiting for approval from immigration to come here. If I am successful in getting it, the cost to fly them here will be substantial and if we are not successful, they will need to find housing in Poland and will need financial support to meet the day to day needs while they are there.
