The Wisconsin Iranian Film Festival, a festival that has drawn a lot of attention, not only locally, but worldwide. A festival that was founded to create cultural dialogue and bring more diversity to communities. A festival that is free and open to the public! Many audience members have expressed how much they have been enjoying watching the creative films we've been showing at the festival, and have stated that these screenings have drastically affected them and have helped change their views of Iran. This year, we added informational videos about Iran before each screening and held two Q&A sessions to add to the educational value of the festival and help encourage dialogue.
Unfortunately, we have come across a major issue, as most of our grants we needed to fund this festival were taken away last minute. We believe in our mission and we have seen the festival’s impact in the past, so despite the lack of funds we kept our promises and held the festival. To our delight, the festival has turned out to be even more successful than the previous year. However, the cost of putting together this festival is somewhere between $5,000 to $6,000. We owe most of this money to distributors, though we also have spent quite a bit on advertising, which included Facebook promotion and printing of festival materials. If you believe in our mission, have been enjoying the films, or want us to be able to continue having such events to create dialogue between people, please consider donating to our cause.
