2nd Annual Hunt Street Station Giving Tree

Donation protected
For the 2nd year in a row, we are keeping on the tradition from one of the first police stations in the US. Giving back to the Community. ( see story below)

This year we have the privilege to help 2 low-income mothers and their children who live in our Detroit neighborhood. To help relieve financial burdens from the mothers, we partnered with the 7th Police Precinct to gather their wish lists. Of course, the kids would like toys and games, but the families also need basic things like dishes and bed comforters.

In one family, we have children who are enthusiastic about cooking but don't have enough cookware to do so. In the other family, we have a young boy who loves to play basketball but doesn't have a ball. This is the reason why we're asking for your help, to make their dreams come true! ho ho ho!

Donate at least $35 and receive a one of a kind Hunt Street Station beanie!

HISTORY OF GIVING TREE

Back in 1908, Captain Marquardt of Detroit's Metropolitan Police Department started a tradition of having a Christmas tree in the lobby of Hunt Street Station. Both the station's officers and members of the public placed gifts and money under the tree so that every child in the neighborhood could have a merry Christmas.  Now, for the second time since reopening as a coworking space, we continue this tradition. Please join us in making the holidays just a little bit better for the children of Detroit by supporting the Hunt Street Station giving tree.

As part of the Detroit Police Department's Sergeant Santa initiative, all proceeds from our fundraising will go to support two families in our neighborhood. One of the families has three children and the other has four. Their needs range from the essentials like shoes and winter clothing to toys and gifts that will make this holiday season really special. Please support our efforts in any way you can.

Also, please join us on December 19th to celebrate the second year of this tradition at our holiday party. Attendance is free, but please bring a gift or non-perishable food item to donate if you can. Click here to let us know you are coming: Hunt Street Station Holiday Party
