This Sunday, October 27,2019, Lisa Ling will focus on the lives of twins on her CNN show.
What she will not explore is the difficulty twins encounter because they typically incur debt together but are not permitted to receive funds from their sibling’s pensions or Retirement after one of the pair passes.
This is a situation I find myself experiencing after the passing of my twin sister. With the exception of doing our internships, my sister and I lived together for over 70 years. Consequently, we purchased cars and our house together. While living, my sister and I
Earned enough money to pay our bills from our salaries, pensions and retirement funds.
However, less than a week after she passed, I was informed by our attorney that I was not entitled to her pension or retirement funds.
After my twin passed, I used her life insurance to help pay Our bills but have now exhausted that source.
Therefore, I no longer can pay our Mortage and other bills we held together. Consequently, I am about to lose our house.
To confront this problem, I have applied for many jobs. I earned a doctorate degree but now I am told that I do not meet the requirements for positions that I have worked in for over 30 years. I suspect that my age of 73 has something to do with the denial of positions.
Therefore, I am requesting family, friends, colleagues and former students assist me with efforts to keep my home.
