Habitat for Humanity Latin America and Caribbean
Donation protected
Hi everyone, my friend, Olivia, and I, David, are starting a fundraiser for Habitat for Humanity in Latin America and the Caribbean.
We met while working for Habitat for Humanity in the Bay Area of California and quickly found out we shared the same dream of biking through Latin America. On September 15th we flew to Cancun on the northern part of the Yucatán Peninsula and started bike touring (bicycle+backpacking) south. Our current plan is to ride our bicycles to Panama City through all of Central America stopping in small towns, at landmarks, and various workaways along the way. Our trip will last approximately three months and, while we have our own separate reasons for wanting to bike 2000+ miles, we figured that we could use our journey to give back to the region we’ll be touring.
Housing insecurity is an issue that has only been exacerbated by the Covid-19 virus as well as the evermore frequent natural disasters worldwide. Habitat for Humanity is an organization that works for and alongside those impacted by housing insecurity, by building community, hope, and homes.
The Latin America and Caribbean branch will use these funds to build and restore housing, provide disaster response and financial education programs, and advocate for adequate housing. Thank you so much in advance for supporting this cause!

If you would like to follow our bike trip we will have a blog up and running shortly but for now my Instagram is @davidangustaylor.
Thank you again.
