My brother Andrew’s life became complete when he married his beautiful wife, Abbygale, three years ago. A year later, God blessed them with twins! Abby sure knows how to care for their active two year old son and daughter. She is constantly on the run and keeping the twins busy while Andrew is hard at work ensuring that his family is taken care of financially.

The new family’s life quickly changed. Abby had been experiencing knee pain for about a week and was diagnosed with Lyme disease upon a visit to the walk in clinic.  The symptoms grew to hip pain and tingling of the face. After a night of intense pain and a fever, Andrew rushed Abby to the ER where she had blood work drawn. The results were not what they expected. Andrew was devastated to hear that his strong, energetic wife was diagnosed with Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia.

Abby was quickly rushed to the hospital to have test after test which would guide her upcoming treatment. The next day Abby was admitted to Bingham and Woman's Hospital where she met a new team of wonderful doctors. Her chemotherapy treatments have just begun. She will also be receiving weekly blood transfusions and a stem cell transplant in the fall.

Due to covid, Andrew is not able to stay at the hospital with his wife. He has been staying at a nearby hotel and paying out of pocket for many unexpected expenses. He will also need to rent a home in Boston to support Abby while she recovers from her 4-6 week stem cell transplant process. 

Abby has a long road ahead of her. My brother may be out of work for an unknown amount of time in order to take care of his wife and children.
