The coyote population has increased dramatically this year around the Tallgrass area.  Daily sightings throught all times of the day and night have been observed.  A dog walking with a woman was attacked and killed right in front of her.  4 dogs in this area have been killed by coyotes.  Several people have been confronted on a walking path by a coyote, one snarled at them and another chased them.  A dog has been seen being chased.  Coyotes have been seen stalking small dogs inside a fence.  The City of Wichita does not handle nuisance wildlife.  Tallgrass and surrounding neighborhood associations have contributed money towards hiring a licensed trapper.  He has successfully removed 4 but thinks there are 12 more.  

Removal is recommended when coyotes have progressed to the habits we are seeing.
