GOAL UPDATE: We’re excited to share that we’ve raised $5,500 from community donations and sponsorship commitments. Due to city funding shortfalls on the concrete and building construction we have had to make an adjustment to our GoFundMe goal to reflect the remaining cost of the project, and we will continue to update you as progress is made.
Help Us Build a Permanent Shelter for Our Farmers Market and Community
Our farmers market has become a place where local farmers, makers, and neighbors come together each week to support local food and small businesses. To keep that momentum going in every season, we’re raising funds to build a pole barn near the St. James Tourist Center— a permanent, covered home for our market and community.
This new structure will:
✔️ Provide a covered, weather-friendly space for local vendors
✔️ Offer a more reliable, year-round market experience for residents and visitors
✔️ Create a welcoming destination for both the local community and travelers
Our Goal
With support already committed from the St. James Chamber of Commerce, we are asking our community to help raise $40,000 toward the total cost of the project. Together, these funds will allow us to build a permanent structure that will allow the market to operate more comfortably and consistently, rain or shine, and will serve our community for many years to come.
Why This Matters
A permanent shelter means:
✔️ Better protection for vendors and customers
✔️ More reliable market days
✔️ Stronger local farms and small businesses
✔️ A lasting community gathering space
Please help us strengthen our community, every dollar counts.
