Help me get out of a bad situation

I have been in a very controlling relationship with my ex. I have since moved out of his house 2 months ago. He has taken away the car I used after my car's engine died after our son was born. I worked at his business without pay. No child support is being given. He states he will never give us money several times to my family. There have been physical, emotional and verbal abuse. My Mom and Stepdad have been footing all bills and helped me get a storage unit to store a small amount of furniture. I am actively seeking employment, but find myself in a bind because I have to pay daycare costs if I do work. I need to take legal action to be able to move to Atl without repercussions. My ex has stated he will take our son away from me if I do go to Atlanta. My daughter lives there with her father and i think my children should grow up around each other. Plus my Sister has a place for me to stay and I have alot of businesses I can go back to work in Atlanta. My parents are finding their savings accounts wiped out lately and talking to my ex gets me nowhere except more ultimatums. This money that is raised will all go to legal actions to get child support and custody of our son. The attorneys I have spoken to need this money as a retainer fee because my ex will try to fight me tooth and nail. He stated he doesn't want our son, but if I choose to move to Atlanta, he will take him. Something is very wrong with my ex and I feel so stuck. He asks for me to "just have a discussion". I tried, all he wanted to do is make me feel bad. Our therapists and legal advisors have stated this is the only way I can get far enough away from him without him keeping a hold on me. He already ran off my daughter and I let her go to her Daddy's house so she didn't have to deal with this. It broke my heart to let her go, but it was for the best. Even though he had a criminal domestic charge against him from me, he continues to tell me he did what he "had" to do. It kills me to have to ask other's for money. But this is a real situation.
