My name is Jack Woody. One of my sons is in law enforcement in Cherokee County Texas and has been for a few years. What I have learned from him and his experience, the law enforcement community is a very diverse group. The work ranges from the most dangerous type of work to helping change a tire on the side of the road to chasing livestock back in their places. We in the community rely on our officers every day and do so without a second thought. They are always on duty and always available to help us. I have also learned with the small communities the resources are very limited. I would hope everyone will consider what they do and what is asked of the officers every day. I am asking for assistance in purchasing the body armor shown in the photo, for each officer in Cherokee County Texas. The sooner we can raise the funds, the quicker we can help our officers and show them the support they deserve.
I have worked in the corrections department for the State of Texas and been a reserve peace officer also. With all our first responders and law enforcement officers, we as a community never appreciate or understand the responsibilities we place on them until we need them. They are always there when we need them.
