Save Green Space From Development
Our neighborhood is trying to pool together to save this beautiful virgin land in Waterford, Michigan from development. It was recently sold to developers who were going to squish 26 home sites in it. This is land that has unofficially been used and loved by residents as a park and a space to exercise their dogs and themselves. The developers recently backed out and we have a second chance to save our space! Please donate what you can so we purchase the land before it is sold to other developers! In the meantime, we will be hustling to create an HOA to care for the land's maintenance and arrange taxes. Time is of the essence! This land is 5 beautiful acres, half a field and half a forest home to deer and foxes! We were told this land was public land and would never be rezoned when we bought our homes with gates to this gorgeous space. We are middle class, working class people who can't afford to live on a lake, but loved this view! The land was recently rezoned residential in a heartbreaking tight vote. Please help us purchase this land and have it rezoned. The entrance to the land is at off a pothole ridden Dundee Drive directly off a dangerous intersection at M59. Our neighborhood cannot accommodate the extra traffic as is. Please save this land as we have no other park within walking distance for our children and dog walkers to enjoy!
