Altagracia Almonte, better known as Teacher Grace, died suddenly and tragically near her home in the Bronx, NY on July 15th, 2016.
Grace was a beautiful, loving, caregiver to my sons and a classmate (pictured here). She was loved by all who knew her and was a true gift to our community. Grace was always lovingly patient with the kids. She made an impact and had a huge heart. The kids always felt safe and she felt like family sharing a smile and giving a kiss and a hug.
The loss to San Jose's small, tight-knit community is immeasurable and heartbreaking.
Grace was a single mom. We've come together to raise money for Grace's 11 year old son whom she leaves behind as well as her mother whom she lived with and cared for. The money will help her family get through this difficult time and hopefully provide a bit of security while they adjust to this horrible loss.
