Rolland George was born February 8th, 2021 to his loving parents Sarah and Zack. Unfortunately, there were many complications during his birth and Rolland was born with no heartbeat and not breathing. He was thankfully resuscitated after 5.. FIVE! minutes and survived. Rolland was given a very bleak outcome and we all expected the absolute worst. Rolland spent 11 really excruciating days in the NICU.
Sarah and Zack had a choice, and followed their heart and instincts to bring Rolland home…not knowing if he would survive. He was placed on hospice care and went home. Sarah became his full time nurse to meet all of his medical needs.
Rolland was introduced to his family, friends and doggo siblings during his first several weeks of life, thinking he may not make it. His parents have fought tirelessly since then to give Rolland the best care possible. They have overcome so many challenges to improve his outcome and health. Rolland’s prognosis has officially been upgraded from severe to mild after the amazing care given by his parents, however, there are still so many challenges ahead.
Rolland needs special care around the clock. He is currently fed through a feeding tube every several hours. He receives therapy daily to continue to improve his mobility. He has a very slow path ahead to lead a semi-normal life.
Sarah and Zack are working as many hours as possible to care for Rolland and afford his healthcare and needs, but as we all know bills add up fast!
