Heartbreakingly on April 30th, 2023, Aaron lost his wife Karen to cervical cancer. Now he and their children are starting on a journey of new beginnings. The first step to this fresh start is to finish what we started with providing them with safe and stable housing here on The Homestead. This is where all of you generous and loving friends and family members come in!
We had a Spotfund account that raised enough money to get their trailer partially hooked up to utilities here on The Homestead and take care of her end-of-life expenses but it did come up short to complete the project before she passed. We have the passion, the love, and the ability to fulfill the labor requirements to finish this project but we do need help with funding for the remaining costs of materials.
I have previously shared a detailed list and cost associated with completing this project on our Help Karen Fight Cancer Facebook Page. It comes to about $1,500-$2,000 to complete the project and get the trailer fully hooked up with power, plumbed for water, and get a portable black water tank for them. The price is variable because we may be able to utilize community support for things like heavy equipment for trenching lines and the like. I am dedicated to being meticulous and mindful of the funding we raise!
Along the way, I will continue to update on the same Facebook page Help Karen Fight Cancer with photos, videos, and receipts for the costs of materials associated with this project. You may even have the opportunity to come and see the work and help in person if you are a local friend or family member as we host project events like BBQs!
By donating to this Go-Fund-Me you are directly helping me to fulfill a commitment I made to Karen before she passed, that I would always take care of Aaron and their babies. Thank you so much for your continued support and generosity in this difficult time.
God bless,
Cynthia
