My 365 km walk with Max on the Rajasthan Highway of India last year, with his charitable foundation, 'One Step at a Time' inspired me so much, I wanted to raise funds to help a community we shared chai and a chat with.
These marginalised families living in temporary shelters on the edge of the highway lack basics such as decent and safe housing, access to any amenities, poor levels of sanitation, hygiene and good nutrition.
My immediate steps are to bring back to them what they themselves have expressed a need for, before working on a longer term project with them.
This 19 mile walk will raise funds specifically for these needs, whether it be extra blankets, hygiene kits, nutritional supplies and vitamins, or materials for better shelter.
- £10 will provide an extended family with good quality blankets
- £20 will provide 4 women with three months supply of iron tablets throughout a critical stage of pregnancy
- £25 will provide a community with water purification tablets for over 2,000 litres of water
-£30 will provide personal hygiene kits for 3 people
