Helping 250 Working Children

Let us grant working children one of the unforgettable days of their life! We would like to support kids with under-privileged backgrounds to have an equal opportunity to “celebrate” Eid as well.

For children who are fortunate and privileged, Eid means sweets, new clothes, and receiving love & “Eidi” (Eidi is an adherence to an old tradition where elders give kids a small or large cash amount.) For some kids, however, especially child workers, Eid sometimes means the hardship of watching only those around them celebrate Eid.

Starting with the first day of Ramadan, for two weeks, we have started a fundraising initiative through GoFundMe to generate “Eidi” for 250 child workers. In addition to this Zakat/Eidi package which will be shared with the kids on the first day of EID, there will be activities, playtime as well as live music. Together, we will wholeheartedly celebrate Eid with these kids as well as present a generous “Eidi” to them.

My life-partner Sultana and I are vouching to give a considerable amount as a means of our participation in this fundraising, and we hope for some kindness and generosity from each of you. On Eid days, let’s come together to support children in need during a time of year saved for celebration. I will provide periodic updates and transparency throughout the process over the two weeks.

Together, with the support and friendship of well-intentioned people like you, on Eid days, we can take away some of the sorrows of hunger and struggle from child workers.

Remember that your zakat-Al-Fitr can change the life of a child in need forever!
