Brian and Jessica's Trip to Haiti
Hello Everyone!
Once again we will be traveling with a team from Extollo International to photograph and document construction training in Bercy, Haiti, approximately ½ hour north of Port-au-Prince. Extollo is training Haitians in construction to give them the skills they need to rebuild their country after the devastating earthquake in 2010. Here is a video for you to see what we were able to accomplish in 2014:
For those that have not heard of us, we are a San Francisco based photography and video team. We focus much on weddings and portraiture but also love to capture things like landscapes, cars and also food. One of our biggest goals is to do our best to help and support those in need which brings us to the amazing people at Extollo International.
Specifically, Extollo is teaching them how to build earthquake and hurricane-safe buildings. Certified graduates will gain the skills needed to be hired in construction and earn a living wage. In Haiti, a single salary is shared among family members for food, school tuition and medical bills, which shows the impact a single job in Haiti can make. We will be assigned to the media team who will be learning about and documenting the lives of the workers.
Although we will be traveling to Haiti without you, we can’t get there without your support and prayers. There are two ways that you can partner with us and take part in this amazing opportunity.
1. Prayer – Please pray that God would give us, and our team, strength and safety and that we would be able to effectively show the love of Christ in all our actions.
2. Financially – The trip is going to cost approximately $5,000 ($2,500 per person), which needs to be raised by June 26th. On top of that, we have still yet to fully recover from equipment theft we had this previous year totalling $4,500.
Please prayerfully consider supporting us and Extollo International in prayer and financially, if possible, or both. If you contribute directly to Extollo International it is 100% tax-deductible and non-refundable for any reason, including cancellation of a mission trip, according to IRS regulations. To donate directly click the link below. Be sure and let them know you would like the proceeds to go towards our trip.
