Help Parveen and His Dogs Find Their Forever Home

Donation protected
New Delhi, India - Since he was a child, Parveen has rescued more than 50 street dogs.  Over the years, he has nurtured these dogs, brought some back from the brink of death, lost some, and has found others homes with loving families in locations overseas as varied as Mexico, the Netherlands, and Japan.

For the past twelve years, he has lived in Vasant Vihar, where he was known to the entire community as someone who would help any animal in trouble.  People would tell him about dogs in distress and Parveen would go to them, take them to the veterinarian to get them treatment, give them medicine, food, and shelter and, once healthy, would return them to the location at which he found them when he had no room at his home for them.  At any one time, he had up to 15 dogs living with him and was taking care of another 10 - 15 dogs in the community who needed help.

He was recently told that he needed to leave Vasant Vihar on very short notice and needs somewhere to move so they can stay together.  So, now, he needs your help to save his family of eight dogs.

Here are their stories:  Parveen found Jackie on the side of the highway when he was one month old.  He took the puppy home, got him medical attention, raised, fed, walked and loved him and Jackie has been his constant companion ever since.

Sheera found Parveen when she was six months old and was running away from a gang of street dogs who had attacked her.  He took her to the vet, nursed her back to health and tried to put her back on the street.  But, she refused and came back to his house.  He could not bring himself to send her back to the street and took her in.  Fifteen years later, Sheera is the matriarch of the eight dogs currently under his care.

Parveen rescued Dots and Glary and Moto (and Cheto and Whitey and Sariya and Pili and two unnamed siblings) when he found nine puppies in Vasant Vihar A block park after their mother Chutke was killed in a car crash.  The puppies were only about 20 days old when he found them, took them to the vet to get them medical treatment, gave them medicine, fed them, and took them in.  Of the nine of them, three were adopted by loving families, three died, and Dots, Glary, and Moto still live with Parveen.

Jabri was a baby when Parveen found her outside his gate.  He started feeding and taking care of  her and about seven months later, she became pregnant and gave birth to nine puppies.  Four of those puppies died due to cold weather and winter rains.  Parveen helped raise the remaining five puppies, one of whom, Vojo, died of Parvo after three days of treatment.  Two of the puppies were adopted and taken overseas where they are currently living with their families.  Bruno recently died in a fight with other street dogs, but Prince, so named because he fought Parvo like a prince for three weeks, survived and is happily part of Parveen's family.

And, Whitey.  Whitey was dropped outside Parveen's gate when she was only about one month old.  A neighbor called Parveen and asked him to rescue her.  Of course he agreed.  He fed her, gave her shelter, got her vaccinated when she was old enough and she loved her ever since.  She is the youngest of the dogs currently under Parveen's care.

So, please help rescue these - and other - deserving Delhi street dogs.
