Help Kirkhill St. Repair Damage from Sewage

Donation protected
As many of you know, Texas has been experiencing record-breaking winter weather. After 60+ hours of no power as well as very little water and gas, MUD #22 turned the water back on full force in the middle of the night on February 18th. Residents were given no warning that the water would be turned back on while they were sleeping, and multiple homes on Kirkhill street awoke to their homes flooding with sewage.

Crossroads utilities was made aware of the issue and after hours of flooding simply recommended homeowners open the sewer clean outs in front of their homes.

The cause of the flooding was due to MUD #22 turning on water but not turning on the sewage pumps. Kirkhill St. is at the lowest part of the hill in the Star Ranch neighborhood, meaning days of sewage buildup flooded their homes when the water was turned back on.

No effort was made to mitigate or prevent this damage. Homeowners contacted their insurance companies only to be told that sewage damage is not the same as a burst water pipe, and they would only cover 10k max for damages.

Homes 153, 157, 161, and 165 Kirkhill street now have to repair the damage and replace their belongings on their own due to this negligence. Some homes have over 100k in damage, and other homeowners have been forced to move out of their homes for the time being.

We have seen an amazing community spirit this past week amongst our neighbors, and we know that anyone who can help will. We thank you in advance.
