Specifically designed for descendants of the African diaspora to reconnect & re-align, this space will highlight important history, through storytelling & skill set building, with the intention of strengthening the self worth & community mindset of Africans throughout the diaspora.
This space will serve as an example in sustainable living practices, a network hub for activists throughout the African diaspora, & a training ground for people with passions to build sustainable communities that thrive socially, economically & culturally.
Training will include:
1. Permaculture Design Certification
-Participants will participate in a standard 72-hour PDC training course, taught from culturally relevant perspectives, using the local African landscape for their initial project designs.
2. Research Internships (Afro-Agro Projects/Studies)
-Interns will have the opportunity to lead &/or work on various different projects related to culturally relevant, sustainable living practices.
3. Holistic Medicine Practices
-Participants will be trained by local, traditional, herbalists and doctors on the various forms of medicine that exist in our environment; how to identify them, how to cultivate them and how to use them.
4. Cultural Culinary Training (Healthy Diets)
-Participants will learn how to eat a a personalized, maximized, healthy diet with local crops. They will be trained in creating amazingly healthy dishes of both western and eastern influence. They will explore the concept of 'food being our medicine.' Participants will be introduced to numerous creative ways to utilize their culinary skill-sets.
5. Creative Arts Of The Diaspora
-Participants will be exposed to, and receive culturally relevant training in, various forms of esoteric healing arts; Reiki, Yoga, Massage, Sound Therapy, Movement Therapy, Theater Therapy, Music Therapy, Meditation Practices and much more!
6. Social Entrepreneurship Training
-Participants will be trained in social entrepreneurship for local operations as well as operations abroad. They will receive guidance around laws and proper procedures as well as be educated in the concept of 'social-enterprise' and its importance to the diaspora community.
7. Culturally Relevant Repatriation Education
-Participants will be educated on the history & customs of their own culture as well the history & customs of the local African culture; ultimately, discovering the connecting intersections between the two. They will also be educated in the the various avenues of repatriating to the vast continent of Africa; setting them up with the insight and know how to successfully transition based on their own desires and needs.
All Funding Will Go Towards:
1. Land $50,000
- Covers the expenses to secure land for long-term use.
2. Infrastructure $50,000
-Cover the expenses for the creation of building structures for lodging, programming, events, agriculture production and and agriculture processing.
3. Legal/Business Fees $30,000
-Covers the expenses for professional assistance on land acquisition in Africa and business registration in Africa.
4. Programming $20,000
-Covers facilitator stipends and programming materials for initial programming & intern projects.
5-. Community Travel Funds $50,000
-Covers the flights, passport fees, room and board for the first 25 training program participants.
