Reparations: down deposit for home.
It's Black History Month and I wanted to honor my father who is an 83 year old Black man who grew up in the Deep South of Mississippi. He picked cotton, experienced brutal racialized oppression, and was even shot at for not calling a white man “sir”
It’s always been my fathers dream to own his own home but has always been too poor to afford one. He wants to spend his last years in Mississippi, when he was born, but can not afford to move back so I created this page for enough so he could fulfill his dreams of homeownership and re-locate back home.
This is a small way to repay my father back for all he and so many endured trying to survive past and on going system racism.
He worked hard to drive the economy of this county for little to nothing in return but is grateful for simply being alive.
I know he would be so ever grateful and deeply heart warmed beyond words by any donation no matter what. Thank to all who donate, share, and help push to ensure my dads dreams come true.
I also want to make note this is a project for allies to show up and for those who believe in reparations to give. If you are Black, please share instead of donating. Thank you all so dearly.
