This story is about a brave little boy and his fearless mom who, from day one, refused to give up the fight to enjoy everyday despite the all obstacles they face.
This is Loagn and Jessie's story...
Logan is 9 year old boy from Saint Albert, Alberta. Like many boys his age, he loves YouTube, minecraft, gta 5, legos, cars and his two cats, Minnie Mouse and Callie. He also loves minions and snowball from Secret Life of Pets. Logan is in the 4th grade and loves gym and spelling but hes not a big fan of math. He cant wait to get to school to spend time with his TA Ms. Su. His favourite tv show is the cartoon Mr. Bean and his favourite movie is the Secret Life of Pets. Logan may sound like a typical ordinary boy his age however, Logan deals with struggles that many children do not.
Logan was born with a genetic disorder he shares with his mother called Neurofibromatosis (NF1).
Nf1 causes benign tumors to grow on the nerves and is found in approximately one in 3,000 live births. Logan has tumors all over his airway, brain stem, spine and femur. They are all inoperable and he is listed under terminal. There is a tumor in his airway causing him to have tracheostomy tube since he was 4 months old. Along with the NF he has co-accuring disorders aswell, scoliosis, moyamoya, pulmonary lung disease, an unnamed heart condition and fibrous dysplasia in his leg. He is also partially deaf due to masses in his outer ears. Logan uses a wheelchair to get around and we are slowly learning sign language.
Logan has recently been hospitalization because he has pneumonia and its caused his lung to collapse. He will most likely be on a ventilator for overnight from now on. Jessie, Logan's mom, has been taking care of Logan on her own since he was 5. With the help of Jessie's mom, aunt and some amazing friends, Logan is a very loved little boy. Right now Jessie is staying at the hospital full time to care for her son and it is taking a financial toll.
As a parents, you worry about all the little things so that you child can live worry free. Having a sick child only adds to the things we endure. That being said I want to take out moment to reach out to the people listening to Logan Jessie story and ask you to help out this beautiful family in a difficult time.
From Jessie and Logan, thank you so much for your support we will be keeping you updated on Logan's Journey.
