Hello, we are Maureen Graziano and Pamela Burner. We are starting this Go Fund Me on behalf of our beloved friend and board member Chris Pellegrino who is facing unimaginable circumstances.

In June, Chris’s significant other, Anthony, was unexpectedly diagnosed with ALS (Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis) a progressive neurodegenerative disease that attacks nerve cells in the brain and spinal cord, leading to muscle weakness and loss of control over voluntary muscles impacting movement, speech, eating and breathing.

Since that diagnosis, Anthony’s condition has declined rapidly, and he now requires round-the-clock care. Chris has faithfully stepped into the role of full-time caregiver while continuing to serve as the director of a local family shelter, carrying an immense burden with grace and

strength.

Much of the specialized medical care, equipment, and support Anthony needs is not covered by insurance, creating significant emotional and financial strain during an already heartbreaking season.

In addition, Chris is actively seeking reliable caregivers with home health experience and specific experience caring for individuals with ALS to help provide safe, compassionate care for Anthony.

For more than 18 years, Chris has been a tireless advocate for homeless families in our community. She has lived a life of service—walking alongside families in crisis, offering hope, dignity, and a path toward self-sufficiency. Additionally, she sits on the board of HIS Coalition for the Homeless, a volunteer grassroots non-profit serving the local community.

Now, she is the one in need of that same love and support that she has shown to others.
