This week we had the honor of being asked by a couple of our friends to make food for the LVHN 2K-ICU AND 2 K-ICU SOUTH. This is our local hospital to our business in Emmaus, PA and our home in Macungie.
Our goal over the Month of April is to provide the doctors, nurses, and other team members who are our local Healthcare Heroes on the front line, meals between 3-5 days a week. We hope that the need to increase ICU'S devoted to COVID-19 patients does become reality. If it does, we will work to provide others meals as need be.
Fresh, healthy, varied, Non-Contact Delivered meals, prepared with the utmost safety in mind in our kitchen, will allow the teams to not have to worry about preparing and bringing lunch or leaving their controlled environment for lunch, as often. We hope to be able to mix in some breakfasts and anything else the teams tell us they would really like.
Whether you would like to underwrite an entire meal for 25 people in 2K-ICU and 15 people in 2K-ICU South (40 people total for both ICU'S), or if you would like to donate any amount as a contribution, all amounts make a difference in truly showing that while they are in the front lines, our community wants to help even in the smallest ways.
Pricing for all meals has been discounted from our normal pricing by 30% or more and we have waived all extra charges for things like paper products, delivery, packaging, etc. This will allow all donations to be used towards the true cost of meals for the medical teams. Average full lunch per person is between $10.50 and $12.50 pp plus sales tax. All accounting and breakdown of meal costs will be available at all times as requested. Our goal is to be transparent to our contributors. Each day we will post pictures of the meals and what has been delivered so you can follow along.
Any money leftover after the need subsides for meals for the ICU will be donated to a local charity chosen by the ICU TEAM.
It is our sincere desire to be a part of the community and to help the healthcare heroes that are risking their lives for us. We are so grateful to the people who have helped us in so many ways as this is and has affected us, our team, and our families, friends and neighbors as well. We pray for everyone's safety.
