Wow! Thanks to everyone who has helped so far! We've been able to purchase our wish list and then some, as well as make some donations to our partners! Our plans for anymore donations are to purchase a small portable sandblaster ($1500-2000), and use the rest of the money for our proposed trail building and information kiosk project! Help us achieve the dream of legitimizing Currahee!

Hi everyone!

We are the Currahee Cleanup Project , and since 2013 we've been working hard to improve the conditions of a local cultural and historical landmark. Our group is recognized by the United States Forest Service , and works with the Southeastern Climbers Coalition , American Alpine Club , and Access Fund , to conduct graffiti removals and trash cleanups on Currahee Mountain.

We are looking to purchase and set up a supply base to remove ALL graffiti on Currahee, and continue to remove the graffiti as it returns. This requires equipment, and lots of Elephant Snot (a biodegradable paint thinner). We're estimating that it will cost roughly $10,000 to completely rid Currahee of graffiti, and keep it that way for a while. We are also looking to help the USFS designate Currahee as a recreation and climbing area, build new system trails, and erect an information kiosk. Before that can happen though, the mountain needs to be mostly cleaned up!

Please, if you spend recreational time on Currahee, have a connection to Toccoa, or just care about historical areas (3 miles up, 3 miles down!), help us help this wonderful amenity!
