287 mile Cornwall coast path walk for Beat charity
Hi everyone!
6 months ago I spent my days lying in a hospital bed, frustrated at myself for the way my life had turned out due to anorexia. But struggling with an eating disorder is not a choice; it's a coping mechanism and a desire to control something in life. I was lucky enough to have support to aid my recovery, although a lack of awareness and help means that many people cannot access this.
So from the 22nd of June, I will be attempting to walk all 287 miles of the Cornwall coast path in 25 days, raising money for Beat. Beat is a UK eating disorder charity, with aims to spread awareness and provide support to those who are struggling with any eating disorder. Recovery requires a support network- without this, people suffer in silence and lives are lost.
I have chosen to do a charity walk as it is something I could have never achieved if I didn't get better, and to prove that recovery from anorexia is possible.
