Help Abby Keep Their Home
Hello, My name is Cecelia and I am Abby’s younger sibling.
On Friday, Abby’s husband and lover of their life, Steve, passed away suddenly and unexpectedly after a traumatic accident. Abby has lovingly devoted the past years to supporting Steve while he battled cancer and received experimental treatment.
Abby would drive Steve the 140-mile round trip to Moffitt Cancer Center several times a week, then waiting in their car alone for 8 hours at a time due to COVID restrictions while Steve went to appointment and received transfusions. As Abby worked with Steve’s doctors to maximize his experimental treatment, Abby threw herself into cooking, making smoothies, soups, and gelatins from scratch for Steve to nourish him. Abby took care of Steve 24 hours a day, no matter what he needed.
As Abby cared for Steve, Steve lit up Abby’s life, he lit up Abby. He was an ever-present supporter of Abby every day, the clearest voice in the room ever-praising everything about Abby that sparkled: art, businesses, intelligence, and the empathetic and enveloping love Abby’s showed to their three high-school aged children— kids Steve loved as his own.
With Steve’s sudden passing in the midst of his ongoing health crisis and the pandemic, many issues are unresolved for Abby and Steve’s family, running the length from legal to emotional. Their financial situation is dire.
Please consider helping Abby, Paul, Austin and Bri by donating. They mean the world to me and my family. Abby is an amazing person; an artist, an advocate, and parent. We love them so much.
