In November 2024, my sister Lizzie and her husband Keith received the most devastating news. Their little Sophie was diagnosed with a rare, incurable genetic condition called Battens Disease (CLN1). This horrific disease will be life limiting and we are committed to ensure that Sophie can have the best life possible .

After much deliberation ( as I am a bit nervous of the open water) and with the help of my support kayaker Laura , I have decided to join 3 of Lizzie's best friends Lisa ,Laura and Natasha to wild swim across Loch Ness - approx 1.7 miles in width (90 lengths of a swimming pool). I have created a go fund me page and if anyone would like to sponsor me the money raised will go to my beautiful niece Sophie .

Aiming to complete the swim on the 31st May however it will be weather dependant so may change.
