MacKillop Legal Studies Fund
During our study about domestic violence in our Family Law unit, the MacKillop HSC Legal Studies students were horrified to hear that one woman a week is killed by their partner in Australia today. The most dangerous time for women is when they choose to leave the relationship. We were inspired to help local victims in our Port Macquarie community and were keen to follow in the footsteps of our school's patron saint, Mary MacKillop who urges to "never see a need without doing something about it."
We are establishing a MacKillop Legal Justice fund that will enable local victims one appointment with a lawyer to better understand their legal rights and any potential Family court requirements. We would love to raise $5000 to start this fund that will become a legacy of our legal studies classes. We hope to present our first cheque to establish the fund before we graduate in 5 weeks time and really need your support to reach our target.
We would be so appreciative of your support in this very worthy cause!
Many thanks
