I am so excited to be participating in the Israel Government Fellows program, a 10 month Masa Israel program run by the Menachem Begin Heritage Center. While I am incredibly fortunate to be able to have this opportunity and experience before moving on to a more typical (and paid) means of employment, I am looking for help covering both the cost of the program and my expenses while in Israel. Any amount helps. I greatly look forward to sharing this journey with all of you!

About Me
I grew up in Baltimore, MD in a family and community where my Jewish identity and my connection to Israel was always emphasized. I graduated from Scripps College in May 2015 with a degree in Philosophy, Politics, and Econmics (PPE), and I plan to pursue a Masters in Public Policy in the coming years. This will help me achieve my goal of working on social policy and advocating for gender equality.
After writing my undergraduate thesis on parental leave and child care policies and their impact on motherhood inequality in the workplace, I recently completed an internship with the National Partnership for Women and Families' worplace team, focusing on issues including paid family and medical leave, equal pay, and paid sick days.
Career ambitions aside, I have been dancing my entire life and spending summers at Camp Louise for almost as long. I worked as a barista at Scripps' on-campus, student-run coffeehouse throughout college and was the Personnel Manager during my senior year.

About IGF
The Israel Government Fellows program is an exclusive and selective Masa Israel program run by the Menachem Begin Heritage Center and endorsed by the Office of the Prime Minister of Israel. IGF seeks to strengthen the connection between the Jewish State and the Diaspora, and to promote global Jewish leadership.
Fellows are placed in different internships within Israeli Government ministries, NGO’s, and leading policy/research organizations, where they are personally mentored and can use their skills to assist Israel’s policymakers. In addition to the internship, the program has a key educational component, including intensive Hebrew studies, tours in Israel and weekly seminar days in which they get to hear and meet Israeli officials, policymakers, journalists, activists and a wide range of leading public figures. IGF provides Fellows with invaluable work experience and leadership development, focusing on complex issues in Israel today, as well as an opportunity to explore their own connection to Israel and the Jewish people.

About My Costs
While I have some money put aside, my internship is unpaid, and I will not have any income while in Israel.
The program itself costs $11,000, about half of which is covered through grants from Masa and the Begin Center. I am responsible for the balance of the program costs, my own living expenses for food and housing, and travel to and from Israel.

It has long been a dream of mine to live in Israel, and with your help, IGF is making that dream a reality.
