As many of you now know, our sweet nephew Rhys was born on November 11, 2020 with a rare condition called Arthrogryposis. While we still don’t know the full extent of his challenges, Rhys is affected with congenital joint contractures in both his arms and legs. Rhys will need casting/bracing, physical/occupational therapy and possible surgery. Rhys was born and is being cared for in the best possible place he can be, The Children’s Hospital Of Philadelphia (CHOP). We are grateful Rhys is in the best place for care as his quality of life will greatly depend on it. He may face challenges with walking and doing normal every activities that we all take for granted. Early interventions and physical/occupational therapies give him the best chance at reaching his fullest potential. We are hopeful with great care, he will be able to live an healthy and happy life. For those of you who know our sister and her husband Kevin, they are the best people and the best parents. They have 4 loving children- Zack, Charlotte, Elinor and Rhys. Rhys couldn’t have been blessed with better parents and siblings. With all this said, Katelyn and Kevin will be experiencing financial difficulties as they face continued stay for Rhys at CHOP, extensive occupational therapy and medical bills: copays, imaging scans, casting, bracing, and long term continual care with multiple medical specialists. If you find it in your hearts to contribute to Rhys’s journey we would be eternally grateful. Any money donated will only go to Rhys’s medical care.
