Help for Chaston Lane Craig

First off, I'm not one to normally ask for help but I'm not sure what else to do at this point. As most everyone knows I gave birth by emergency C-section to mine and Sammy's son, Chaston Lane Craig, on August 1st. I wasn't allowed to put Sammy on the birth certificate. I will have to get a paternity test that is court approved. Sammy was cremated so the first step is to find out if the medical examiner has Sammy's DNA on file. This will require a lawyer and a court order just to find out. If his DNA is not on file we will then have to ask both Sammy's mother and father to be tested and then Chaston will have to be tested regardless. The DNA tests are over $1000 not to mention the lawyer fees we will incur along the way. I of course want Sammy listed as Chaston's father legally for personal reasons, but the main issue is for Chaston to get any help from the VA, social security, and/or workmans comp Sammy has to be listed on the birth certificate. The birth certificate is the first step to get the ball rolling on anything. Right now the state of Arkansas views Chaston as fatherless. If you knew Sammy then you knew how excited he was to be a daddy. He took care of and loved Nat like she was his own when he didn't have to and he would want Chaston to be taken care of in the same way. For Chaston to be viewed as "fatherless" is an insult to Sammy and he would not be happy to say the least!
Sammy was our main provider and as soon as I am able I will be seeking employment to support my children. Meanwhile in order to start this legal process I'm putting my pride aside and asking for financial help to secure my sons future. I have a great support system in my amazing friends and family, especially my parents. They have been here for me financially, emotionally, anyway you could imagine but at this point it's overwhelming for us all.
We will make it through this. Sammy Joe wouldn't have it any other way, but if at all possible we could use a little help. Even if you can't help financially your prayers and good vibes are appreciated!!
