Maiya's Road to Recovery

     Maiya, our 8 year old Shiba Inu, was viciously attacked by an alligator. Not only did the bite leave a gaping wound, but the crushing force allowed a flesh eating bacteria to rapidly infect her.
     She has been fighting for her life in critical conditon for the past week. As a part of our family, we have done everything possible to save her. So far, Maiya has recieved a tremendous amount of care, including multiple surgeries, blood and plasma transfusions, wound care, IV antibiotic therapy, pain management, and ongoing hyperbaric treatments.
     This is only the beginning of her long road to recovery. She will still require numerous sessions of hyperbaric therapy, daily woundcare, as well as skin grafts and reconstructive sugery. We are grateful that we were able to save her life, but the ongoing costs are greater than anticipated. Any donation you are able to make is sincerely appreciated.

Any money recieved exceeding the amount required to care for Maiya will be donated to those facilities involved in her treatment.
