Youth for Youth Global Initiative, YYGI, is a student-led program in collaboration with public schools, private schools, and non-profit organizations. We aim to bring change through sports events both locally and internationally to the youth impoverished communities. This summer in July and August of 2021, we will be launching our first project abroad on the Caribbean Islands of Aruba and Haiti.
Our mission this summer is to expose the young generation to an extraordinary athletic experience through tennis sports clinics. We want to give the youth who lack transportation and financial needs and most importantly the opportunity to participate in sports, a chance to play the sport of tennis.
As teenagers, we have realized the joy it brings for us to socialize among others and simply have fun through playing sports. This summer we are reaching the youth who lack sufficient daily necessities that are unable to take part in fun sports events or unable to find ways to bond with their peers. We want to give them a life-changing experience by hosting this special tennis clinic to ensure them a week of fun from our dedicated U.S youth team.

YYGI’s partners and sponsors in the United States will collaborate with local orphanages and native organizations in Cap-Haïtien, Haiti, and native community-centered organizations in Aruba in initiating the tennis clinic for the underserved youth of about 50 participants. The ages range from 8 to 16 years old. Participants will be introduced to the sport of tennis through several tennis skill circuits and tennis court games. Each participant will also be given breakfast, lunch, and refreshments along with prizes and giveaways. They will also get a pair of tennis shoes, a drawstring bag, and a t-shirt. Tennis racquets will be available for the duration of the event as well. All donation proceeds will go toward these provisions.
We are collaborating with Centre de Refuge Des Orphelins D'Haïti, Associaton des Juenes Nordistes pour une Nouvelle Alternative de Developpement (AJENONADE), and FaithCanon Global Region Representative, Berlin Desir. They are native to Cap-Haïtien and will provide participants as well as local volunteers.

We are also collaborating with the Kiwanis Club of San Nicolas Aruba, Junior Chamber International Aruba (JCIA), and our Global Aruba Representative and Advisor, Indra Pulina Indi. They are natives of Aruba and will be partnering with YYGI. We will be joining the Kiwanis Club’s summer camp by bringing a sports extension to their camp.
Youth for Youth Global Initiative is being sponsored by United World Missions, FaithCanon, FaithCanon Generation Z, and Smart Activities for Fitness & Education (S.A.F.E.) and is being supported by Patriot High School, Woodbridge High School, Trinity Christian School, and Ronald Reagan Middle School.
