Moon Garden Beautification Project

Hello Fellow Diamond Cove Residents, My name is Oliver Pennington and my wife Maria and I purchased and built on the property abutting Moon Garden 7 years ago. We have enjoyed the community and island each day we are able to be here. It truly is a special place. For those of you not aware about 6 years ago the Moon Garden irrigation system was destroyed as it was mistakenly not blown out and each year since the garden has “eroded” to dust and weeds. In effort to restore this landmark spot for everyone to enjoy I wanted to make an effort to help bring back the irrigation system through a community effort. While a complete new system is costly and requires power and water to be maintained at the garden I have taken the liberty to get a quote for extending our personal property irrigation to moon garden. This reduces the cost substantially and ensures it will be maintained as it will be commissioned and blown out each year at the same time as our personal system. Further the island does not need to worry about the electronics, the electrical and water line maintenance at the garden. We will personally fund all maintenance to that effect so this is at zero cost to association for this improvement to install and maintain. Should any money be raised beyond the cost of irrigation system of $2,039 I would transfer that money to the association and earmark it for added plantings and seeding for the garden to use as those volunteers see fit.
