Hi everyone as you may know I was pregnant with twins Avery and Easton. Unfortunately I went into preterm labor and the boys were born at 23 weeks and 1 day, that’s 17 weeks early. Sadly Avery passed away in my arms after 4 hour.
Easton was born swinging and and has been swinging every since. Easton is now 5 1/2 months old and at Seattle Children’s Hospital since he was transferred from our home hospital. Easton has been through so much in his short life: PDA, CDL,BPD, numerous blood transfusions, 3 self extubations, 5 intubations, 2 stomach surgeries, blood infections, high blood pressures, low blood pressures, he’s coded 6 times, 3 picc lines, 100s of xrays and so many trips to IR, feeding intolerance, medical nec, platelets transfusion and now he has just received a trach.
This journey has been long and we will continue in the hospital at least for the next 4-6 months while we work on the trach healing and trying to wean Easton in his ventilator settings along with his feeding intolerance and get home care setup. Due to Easton’s fragile medical needs I am at the hospital with him 24 hours a day since he was born. I have not been able to return to work because of this and unfortunately the every day bills do not get put on hold while your child is fighting for his life.
Your donations will assist me in continuing to be by Easton’s side without the worry of the every day bills. I would be so every grateful for any assistance you are able to provide. Easton is such an amazing fighter and continues to amazes me and the doctors and nurses daily.
Thank you so much for reading and sharing our story.
