Namaste everyone,
We are LCpl Som and Pte Nidup from 10 QOGLR, serving members of the British Army. On 29th March 2026, our team from HQ Squadron will take part in the Fleet Half Marathon, running 21.1 km (13.1 miles) — approximately 26,200 steps.
We are dedicating these 26,200 steps to the Gurkhas by raising funds in support of the Gurkha Museum, an important institution that preserves and promotes the remarkable history, culture, and traditions of Gurkha soldiers. The museum plays a vital role in sharing the legacy of our forefathers with a wider audience and ensuring that the values of Kaida, honour, and service continue to be remembered and respected.
Running a half marathon is a demanding challenge, but we are proud to take on these 26,200 steps to support the future of Gurkha heritage.
Why we are fundraising
- We are raising funds to support the future of Gurkha heritage, which helps cover the routine operating costs of the Gurkha Museum and contributes to Project Kaida -a capital fundraising campaign aimed at redeveloping and improving the museum for future generations.
Our Goal: £600
Every donation, no matter how small, will make a meaningful difference in helping preserve the history, culture, and legacy of the Gurkhas.
