26.2 Miles of Hope: Supporting Derbyshire Refugee Solidarity

One of the best things I did in 2023 was spontaneously dropping in one morning on Derbyshire Refugee Solidarity—the most incredible organization I've ever encountered. Since then, I've loved attending whenever I can.

The range of services they provide to support asylum seekers in Derbyshire is truly remarkable. These include Calais aid runs, growing fruit and vegetables at an allotment, art and craft activities, cycling and bicycle maintenance, English classes, various sports such as football and swimming, music, clothing alterations, and organized trips and visits.

And the volunteers who contribute their time and energy to this endeavour are like family to me now. The best kind of family.

The most remarkable aspect of DRS is the warmth and friendliness, as well as the laughter and smiles that asylum-seekers and refugees bring, despite the collective trauma they have endured.

Do you want to join me in making a difference? I'm taking part in the 2025 London Marathon, which is set to make history as the world's largest field in the discipline, to raise money in aid of DRS and every donation will help.

With your help, DRS will continue to support refugees and people looking for asylum in Derbyshire, to empower them through English lessons, to support refugees around the world, and, to inform the public through presentations to dispel myths surrounding refugees.

Thank you in advance for your contribution to a cause that means so much to me.
