I am reaching out to you today to share the story of my dear friend from Sudan and to seek your support in a critical time of need. I am organizing this fundraiser to help my friend Kaysim secure the necessary funds to seek asylum in Europe after enduring a harrowing conflict in their homeland.

Kaysim's story is both heart-wrenching and urgent. Here is a message from Kaysim in their own words:

"My name is Kaysim, and I am Sudanese. Due to the brutal war in Sudan, I was forced to flee my home and seek refuge in Uganda. I am writing to you with a heavy heart, as my life is currently in grave danger because of my gender identity. As a non-binary and gay individual, I face immense challenges and constant death threats. My situation is dire, and I desperately need your help to escape this terror.

My goal is to seek asylum in Europe, where I hope to find safety and a chance to rebuild my life. However, this process is complex and requires resources that I simply do not have. I aim to raise $6,000 to cover the costs of asylum applications, travel documents, and plane tickets. Any amount you can contribute will bring me one step closer to safety and a new beginning. Your support means the world to me."
