My name is Kerry Murphy.  I am raising money to help my niece Rebecca Kelly with her families journey with her newest 11 week old baby " Oaklyn Lee Rounds".
Oaklyn requires heart surgery to repair a hole in his heart he was born  with two holes in his heart diagnosed as Ventricular Septal Defect.  

From birth it has been hard for Oakie to  breath,  feed properly  and to gain weight as its  harder for Oakie due to his heart condition causing his little heart having to work much harder. 

Oaklyn is currently on heart medication however has been admitted to Royal Children's Hospital this week. 

Oaklyn's parents have been told he falls into the category of needing heart surgery as the biggest hole is 5-6mm.

He has spent way too much time in hospital as it is, but we all know it is necessary to get him right. 

We are all staying positive however there are risks and future associated health issues that may occur.  Please see link on information about his condition.

Statistics show he has a great chance to be fully recovered after this surgery and we are all praying for this.   

However during the waiting and healing process it means unfortunately  Rebecca and Oaklyn's dad Jack have to be away from family and other children who need thier care. 

Rebecca will not be able to  work during this time and will need to give Oaklyn attentive care afterwards that will extend her inability to work as much as she did to meet her financial needs.   I know also Jack has and will need to take time off his job to be there for support when able and I know personally that this will take a financial toll on thier little family.

General living expenses, bills,  medical visits,  fuel,  schooling/daycare costs  for her other children,  and just staying away expenses let alone what they will  be faced with in the near future in regards to care and medication costs now and while little Oakie is healing. 

I thought this is the best way for family and friends who want to help to be able to, knowing these funds will assist in  elimminating  some of the financial pressure on this young family.

I know Rebecca and Jack will not expect anything from anyone however we as a family want to help and just want our little "Oakie" to be healthy happy and to be back at  home.
 
With parents permission I will update progress over next few weeks on any new details,  as you could imagine changes on medical care or  Dr's reviews can happen at any time. 

What we do know at present is that Oakie is in the best care down at Royal Children's Hospital  and I will update you all when we know more about little Oakies progress when it  comes to hand.
