I'm swimming a lap of Chipstead lake (2.5km) on 21 June 2025 on behalf of the Hall4All Appeal to renovate King Charles church hall near the Pantiles in Tunbridge Wells. Here's hoping the water won't be too cold after the lovely weather we've had.
I am going to do my best to make it, however chilly, because the church is tantalisingly close to having enough money to replace the roof this year - please help me get it over the line.
The hall, which belongs to King Charles the Martyr Church, was built in 1916. It hosts many community groups, activities, classes and family parties year in, year out. But 109 years on, nails holding down the tiles have corroded and the roof frequently leaks. There are serious risks it may not survive another winter, putting the building as a whole at risk.
Your generosity will help me keep going as I aim for the longest outdoor swim I have ever attempted. Please give if you can.
